I know it used to be that you could copy/paste the youtube encode markup into the HTML and it would play in the YouTube iOS app. I'm trying this again and it won't work. Likewise, I'm trying YouTube's new iframe method for mobile browsers but doing that bumps me over to mobile safari, not the player app, and it won't bring me back into my app when it completes.

Has anyone been able to make this work in PhoneGap on the iPhone recently? I'm hitting a lot of dead ends.

Thanks,
Cameron

what's wrong with the iPhone's default url scheme?

The trouble is that it's opening the YouTube app and leaving me there
when it's complete. I need to get returned back to my app when the
video completes or the user hits the "done" button. Using the schemes
Apple gives me at
http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/featuredarticles/iPhoneURLScheme_Reference/Articles/YouTubeLinks.html
doesn't produce what I need.

Is there some other way?

Oh wow. I'm a dork.

You know - this whole time I've been trying all of this stuff in the
simulator until I tried the apple links. Now I'm realizing that the
SImulator doesn't do YouTube. Trying the YT embed code on the actual
device works as expected.

Sorry for the mix-up. Maybe this will help somebody else out in the
future.
