I submitted my app on january 30 and it got rejected yesterday.
Basically I had a list of Live TV channels along with a tv guide
underneath. All of these streams are form web and they are freely
available. Many other apps do the same thing but I wanted to include a
tv guide and make it nicer. App Store review team told me that it used
too much data on 3G. So I'm planning to have few channels at first and
update the list after app review team approves the app.

My question is: Does Apple check the app after it's on the App Store?
What are my chances of being pulled down if they see "those" channels
again?

Thanks,

hello my suggestion is to create a short list two for 3G and the other by wi-fi. I think so will be approved.

Yeah I could do that but would they ever check if I have appropriate streams?

They play with your app on 3g and wifi and measure the amount of data it pulls down.  So you need to present the proper streams to the user based on their current connectivity.

So if I make my app Wifi only I wouldn't have this problem anymore right?

Let the user decide what listings they want.
Modifying your app after it is approved and against apple's tos.

My 2 cents.

Not modifying but more like refreshing channel list. Dynamically
gathering that from my own web service and putting it under db. Is
that against apple's tos? I believe it is not. But what I really
wonder is if they check the app after it is approved.

From experience, a good rule of thumb is 5MB in 5 mins.
I have also seen some one fairly popular app have horrid bit rates for their videos during app review, then magically their videos have better bit rates after its been approved in the App Store. I realize that you don't have control over these web videos, so WiFi only would be the only option...

Hi Kerim
How are you?

Just wondering what are you using in this project?
I mean, did you found any problem with streaming?

I'm thinking in building something but don;t know where to start with this kind of project. Streaming, video, audio...
Did you only load on the sample/html page? You setup all your content in one html file? Or you load in separate files?

I'm thinking in load a XML file to populate all the HTML via javascript with all content and then I can hide/show when needed.

Can you share your experience? Plugins, code you have been using?

Thanks
Anderson

The main thing to do is make sure your streams conform to apples
guidelines. They certainly test each stream using these standards.
Guides available on developer site.

Depending on what u have planned, the rest csn be trivial:) ie use js
to load stream info > create ui

I made a simple channel viewing app recently nothing fancy required just jquery
