Release Notes

Workspace Window:
A new window titled "Phon : Workspace" is now displayed when the
application is started. Actions for opening projects, creating new
projects, importing older projects, and creating archives of projects
can be found in the workspace window.
* Menu commands "File->New" and "File > Open" have been replaced by
"File > Workspace", which displays the new workspace window and related
commands.
* PhonWorkspace is now a user-selectable property. The workspace
folder can be changed via the "Workspace folder" section of the new
"Phon : Workspace" interface.
* Added option to extract a project from an older .phon file or a .zip
archive from the start dialog. Phon 1.3 projects are upgraded
automatically when detected and the original 1.3 project is placed in
the ${workspace}/backups folder.
* Added option to archive projects in the workspace folder from the
start dialog. Archived projects are placed in ${workspace}/backups
* Added option to view project in the OS file system viewer from the
start dialog.
Media:
* VLC can now be installed with Phon (embedded) on Windows and Mac OS
X. On multi-user systems, it is recommended to install the embedded
version of VLC.
* A list of default media folders can now be setup in the application
preferences. Phon will search for media in the order which the folders
appear in the list.
* Video playback in the Media & Segmentation view will now loop as
intended.
* All media segment exports will now default to folder
<project>/__res/media/segments/
* Can now 'unset' media for a session by using a new context-menu
available by right-clicking the media location label in the Session Info
view.
* The .wav file for the Waveform view is now created in the same
folder as the source media file instead of the <project>/__res/media
folder for the project.
* The 'Show More' button in the Waveform view now extends the
displayed interval by 1s (up from 0.5s) on each side.
General:
* Application preferences have been re-organized into tabs.
* Improved method for copying large files on Windows XP.
* Resetting view in the Session Editor will now delete the
editorlayout.bin file location in the user preferences folder.
* Records can now be sorted by up to 3 tiers. The sort function is
available via the "Record > Sort Records..." menu item of the Session
Editor.
* Tier font can be reset via a new context menu available by
right-clicking the tier name in the Tier Information view.
* Default folder for all open/save dialogs is now the selected
workspace folder.
* Fixed several small UI bugs/typos.
