Philly Orchardists,
Every year before the first big frost hits (tonight), there are generally still lots of green unripe figs on our trees. Pick them today if you can!
Various cultures have recipes for unripe figs and here's a few to share with you:
https://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/10/06/ravenous-preserved-unripe-figs/
https://urbanhuntress.com/2012/11/11/foraging-unripe-figs/
https://www.theitaliangardenproject.com/blog/stuck-with-green-figs
https://www.foragebyronbay.com.au/blog/pickled-green-figs
Enjoy and let us know if you come up with other recipes or uses!
