NJ/PA Spring On-farm Training
Saturday, May 24
9 AM - Ted Daniecki Tree Crops Orchard, Jobstown NJ
- Welcome, Introductions and Intentions
- Overview of the Agroforestry Accelerator program and Permaculture Living Lands Trust with David Harper and Andrew Faust
- Introduction to tree crops orchards with Zach Elfers of Future Forest Plants / Keystone Tree Crops Cooperative and guided tour with Ted Daneicki of his orchard
- overview of the business of community agroforestry with Brigid Walsh of 100 Miles North
12:00 noon - Local lunch featuring a tasting of food forest ingredients. If you have dietary restrictions please let us know to see how we can best accomodate you
1:00 PM - continued tour and grafting demonstration
3:00 PM
Caravan to nearby Foggy Bottom Tree Farm
Tour of hazelnut plantings and meeting with Don Knezick
- Brigid Walsh discussion with Don about the hazelnut business
5:00 PM - Conclusions and farewell
We will send location and parking details closer to the date of the training, and suggested readings and viewings.
