Philly Orchardists,
Big news, see message below!

For POP partner sites and others involved with public gardening projects in the city, FarmPhilly has at long last opened their new ARC tool library.  They have lots of great orchard-related equipment, including orchard ladders, pruning tools, pole harvesters, and more.  See below for more information and the link to apply to be a member.

ARC Membership Applications are Now Open!

Greetings, everyone!

We at Farm Philly are absolutely THRILLED to announce that as of today, July 6th, the Membership Application for the Agriculture Resource Center is NOW OPEN!

New Member Applications are accepted year-round, so you can create a MyTurn account (the online platform used to manage memberships and tool lending) and submit your application at any time.

While applications are always open, Farm Philly reviews applications during scheduled review periods throughout the year. This allows our team to carefully review applications, verify references, and onboard new members. Within each review period, applications are processed in the order they are received. Please note that applications for newer projects or applications requiring additional information or reference verification may take longer to complete.

The first application review period will be open from July 6th-July 31st (see our website for other application review periods). Applications will be approved on a rolling basis during this period, and all approved applicants will be responsible for attending a New Member Orientation. Please allow ARC staff up to 4 weeks after application submission to process your application.

Once your application is approved and you have attended Membership Orientation, you will have access to borrow our 1,700+ tools, all for free!

Applying is a multi-step process. Once your account has been created, you will:

  • Complete your profile information

  • Describe your community-based agriculture project

  • Provide two references

Before you begin, we recommend reviewing our Step-by-Step Application Guide, which walks you through each part of the application process. We are incredibly excited to meet you all, learn more about your public projects, and get to work!

Please note: ARC Membership is reserved for any city of Philadelphia resident working on a community-led public project. A community-led public project includes, but is not limited to: community gardens, community farms, Friends of Park Groups, animal keeping, community orchards, school and library gardens, street tree pruning, pollinator gardens, food forest, green stormwater infrastructure, community-led open space, etc. The ARC is NOT for private project, household, or business use.

Many thanks,

The Farm Philly Team

Farm Philly, established in 2014, is the urban agriculture program of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.
