Thanks Peter! While I can't see your animation, I would highly caution to use animation sparingly, if not ever. Here are my comments below by slide number:
1. Your logo is a little big. I would like to see more space and that white space used to communicate what you do. For example, "Nerve imaging for prostatectomy." I think Los Angeles is implied if you have UCLA. Nice email.
2.If you have animation on this slide, please delete. Check out this site for a nice way to format this slide:
http://techcrunch.com/2010/11/02/365-days-10-million-3-rounds-2-companies-all-with-5-magic-slides/
Consider photos.
3. Start with the number. Instead of more than - can you just say, "70,000 radicial....." Same for #2, "40% or greater chance of ...." A major cause is redundant. Consider deleting or add stronger language. This photo on the right is not doing anything for me, and I like the idea of a quote but it is too long and two slides in succession with quotes is unnecessary. Is Patrick Walsh someone important? Your audience doesn't know him from any other doctor!
4. I would change this title. I like the idea of this slide, but I would rethink how you are presenting the material. I also want to know about the surgery today. What tools, etc. might you be integrating your platform with?
5. Expand your title....FILM does X or is x% better than autofluor or imaging advantages of FILM can be expanded to surgery. I can't see these images in the right format still, but think about if an investor knows what gating is. Move the footnotes to the bottom left. Unless they are Nature or Science or PNAS, you don't really need the full footnote. It is distracting. Tell me more about what FLIM does here please.
6. This title needs to be much more specific. Who is your competition? Other imaging modalities? Surgical tools? The audience doesn't know what these are. I would use different colors than red and green. Consider two shades of the same color, like blue or grey. I know what you mean by FOV, but others might not. Consider call the inexp column cost, then grade the rows with $$ or low/high or actual numbers, etc. What is MPM??
7. So, this is the first slide where I learned that your product will be an capital exp. Please communicate this much sooner. Change title, for example, "FLIM-based imaging platform will compete with x market" Why are your market numbers based on robotic surgical systems? Is there a small piece of this market you hope to capture or that is spent on accessories? Investors will want much more specific information when $1B+ is a market.
8. This is a great image! Can you give me a timeline for these next steps and/or $$? I would consider moving some of this to slide 5. Slide 5 looks like it is for a scientific presentation.
9. Change title. I like this graphic. Does it belong sooner, like slide 5 again?
10. Title again. First line under 1st bullet makes a good title even! Throughout the pres, please think about using the title to state the most important message on the slide.
11. Does it matter if patients are Medicare or not? Please plan to talk about this in more detail. How do you define average sized hospital? $$? #pts?
12. I like the idea of this slide. Looks like you need to finish it still!
Nice work so far! I will look at this again if you want. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Jennifer
