Any interest in driving up to CO to take tactical response's fighting
pistol course? It's like a 12 hour drive, but much shorter than going
to tn.

Anthony Navarro is hosting it I believe.

I taking a pass on this one, having mixed opinions about tactical response.
PR&G hosted a Fighting Pistol class in 2005 with Tase (last name escapes me) and dave keenom.
While the course content was fine overall, we did have some novice students that were not getting the attention
I think they should have.
TR advocated then "FAST " :fight, assess, scan, tacload - which included racking the slide afterward.
I never did get a satisfactory answer as to why rack the slide - maybe it was because I wasn't open minded enough?

fast fwd to june 2009 in Waco,Tx - the pricipals of TR: Yeager , Gibson and 2 more gents fielded a team in the tiger valley team match.
IIRC, their strategy was "not to win - but to fish last" , otherwise they would be "gaming it."  ?
Our 2 teams did spend some evening dinners together, where I finally came to the conclusion that Yeager is an asshole.
Speaking with some contractor acquaintenances, guys who have been working the PSD field in both Iraq & Afghanistan - there isn't much respect for what he is teaching or his methodology.

Don't know what the TR curriculum consist of now - or if has adopted any new TTP's .
I am sure whatever they have to offer is beneficial to their students. I just won't be one of them

Racking the slide after all reloads is supposed to be so you always
have a round in the chamber, I have shot my glock empty and the slide
hasn't always locked back so it makes sense I guess, and losing one
round in a gun fight probably won't matter. I've hears they are not as
dogmatic about it as they once where.

Yeager, and his company are very controversial, lots of people say he
got people killed in Iraq due to negligence, and of course there's the
infamous "cameraman standing next to a target" thing.

By his own words "I am not an asshole. I'm a dick."

Im not gong to have the money to go to COlorado Tom, my bad. I am in
the process of having my WASR rebuilt by Jim Fuller. You think you
can make the HRCC in OCt. Mark, i hear ya man, to each his own. You
do have to have some thick skin to put up with some of those guys.
But, its hard to argue that its some of the most realistic and
comprehensive training out there.

Also, everyone can agree that pretty much ANY training, as long as
it's safe, is better than no training.

I would like to do fighting rifle and if I go to do FR, I would
probably stay and do HRCC, are you going to drive or fly?

Also, I see you've come over to the dark side and got an AK lol.

I agree 100%
sunday , 2 friends and I shot our 10-22's and practiced transitions between shoulders.
standing and kneeling around a barricade.
final drill was 1 hit on steel plate;
standing strong side
kneeling strong side
kneeling other side
standing other side
repeat for 60 seconds.

I dont know whether im going to fly or drive. When I looked about a
month ago, round trip was just under $300, then you have to add rental
car. Driving would be a bitch, but Anthony Navarro is organizing a
carpool from CO. I still gotta figure out which one is cheapest, and
smartest. I bout a WASR about a month ago and have just sent it in to
Fuller so he can do his rework. Should be a dandy to shoot once hes
done with her.

I would be far more likely to go if we drove, I would go half on gas
of course, I honestly can't even imagine having to fly with not just
my handgun, but 2 AKs, and a bunch of tacticool gear, TSA people might
shit a brick. Not to mention the ammo issue. I know you can't fly with
anything more than just your carry ammo, and I know TR lets you ship
ammo to them ahead of classes and they hold it for you, but there's
also the issue of bringing back ammo in case you don't shoot it all,
I'd hate to leave a few hundred rounds.

I actually drove cross country to move here, took about 2 days driving
non stop with my step dad, wasn't too bad really, plus driving cross
country is an experience in and of itself.

I also assume you are planning on staying in the team room?

Did you get a 7.62 or a 5.45 WASR? Did you get big dots for it? I love
mine on my AK.

I'll lety you know when I decide whether I'm going to fly or drive.
Yes I do plan on staying in the Team Room, I still need to reserve my
spot.

Yeah my WASR is 7.62 and fuller is throwing the big dots on it. When
i bought it, I didnt even shoot her. I just packed it up and sent it
off.
Tell you the truth, she looked rough coming out of the box.
