I'm working on a presentation and I'm hoping I could get a little information about the "initial" release of the Phoenix Framework.

Digging through the Github history I noticed that the "initial commit" was marked on 2014, January 18. I'm mostly curious if this was the "true" initial commit? Perhaps Chris may know?

I don't suppose anyone could provide some of these dates for me, by any chance? Some dates I'm curious about:
  1. First inception / prototype of the Phoenix Framework
  2. The date of the 1.0 release
  3. The Date(s) of any other "major / minor" release dates (although, I think i could probably dig through github commit history for this), but if someone happens to know these off the top of their heads, it would be extremely helpful.
  4. Any other "important" dates that I may not be thinking of?

Initial announcement was on Feb 4th 2014 https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/elixir-lang-talk/%5BANN%5D$20Phoenix$20-$20Realtime$20Elixir$20web$20framework/elixir-lang-talk/LzvM3zwfJDc/-hhJK95Ti6kJ including a youtube video and obligatory "Why not just contribute to {{existing framework}} response."

Hey Bryan,

In addition to what Adam said:

1) first commit December 2013 before I settled on "Phoenix" name. Inception maybe a few months prior
2) 1.0 released Aug 28, 2015
3) Changelog includes all release dates for major/minor
4) Other important dates would be:
- José joining the phoenix-core team ~ Sept 2014
- ElixirConf 2014 (first elixir conf) where my Phoenix talk was really a takeoff point for exposure. Also the upcoming "Elixir and Phoenix Conf" in Orlando later this year.
- You should also lump in our "2M channel clients on 1 server" milestone http://www.phoenixframework.org/blog/the-road-to-2-million-websocket-connections

Hope that helps and good luck with the presentation!
