Hello fellow developers!  We wanted you to be the first to know that we have finalized our plans for the Southwest DevFest.  We really do believe that it's going to be a great event.

Here is a quote from the DevFest website, that describes how this event will be different  -  "Each event will be inspired by and uniquely tailored to the needs of the developer community that hosts it. While no two events will be exactly alike, each GDG DevFest will, at its core, be powered by a shared belief that when developers come together to exchange ideas, amazing things can happen."

As you will see we have multiple tracks focusing on various aspects relating to enhancing your Android, Web, or Project Management skills.  Our day will be focused on interactive and hands-on sessions.  You are encouraged to attend the entire day, but if you aren't interested in a subject being presented feel free to come down anyway, as we will have an alternate track scheduled. This will be an area designed for hands on programming, where experts will be available to answer questions, or discuss technology (come get a kick-start on that Web or Mobile project you have always wanted to work on).

  Session Info
-------------------
Android Tools Essentials - Mike and Donn will be showing the most essential tips and techniques for developing Android using the legacy Android Developer Tools (ADT), and the new hotness that is Android Studio.  We will demonstrate the some essential workflow techniques, key shortcuts, and show some of the most important tools (you probably didn't even know existed).  If you plan to attend this session it is critical that you have installed the both tools before attending (ADT Installation, or Android Studio Installation), and at least ran a single "Hello World" application.

Team Tools - How to Hire, Plan and Manage a Software Development Project Driven by a Distributed Team - It is now the norm for a software development team to be distributed. From developers in the same city telecommuting, to developers spread across the globe, a distributed workforce is the norm. While there are many management techniques that apply to both in-house teams and remote teams, there are also some very important distinctions and strategies that are unique to managing a distributed team. Learn the strategies for optimally hiring your distributed team, planning your software development project, and managing your disturbed team.

Chrome Dev Tools - come learn all about the best tools currently available for Web Development.  This session will include hands on demos, so make sure to have the tools installed before you show up!  (install from here)

Is there something more to this registration than saying "Yes" to "Are you going?" ?
