Please come along to the Winter Astrocamp in Carterton this weekend.
The weather looks promising for the observing evenings and there is a
great programme in store with a wide variety of presentations on
offer. Check out the website below or download a programme directly
from www.astronomynz.org.nz/images/stories/astrocamp_programme_2010.pdf.
There is still time to register and if you want to come for a day only
please contact one of the organisers.

Held from Friday until Sunday evening, the focus of Winter Astrocamp
is observational astronomy and astrophotography. During the day there
will be the opportunity to observe the Sun. In the evenings we have
the wonders of the winter Milky Way and beyond. In addition to
observing we have, during the day, a programme of lectures and
workshops with opportunities to exchange ideas and socialise.

The timing of Winter Astrocamp is to take advantage of the wonderful
winter night skies when the most brilliant region of the Milky Way is
overhead in the evening.

A free Tour of Stonehenge Aotearoa on Saturday morning is included as
part of the programme. A dinner will held at the RSA on the Saturday
evening followed by a public talk on Exploring Astrophysics in the
Radio Renaissance by Dr Melanie Johnston-Hollitt.

Further details and a registration form is available at www.AstronomyNZ.org.nz.
