Phoenix Astronomical Society meetings - November/December
Well it is already that time of year!
So come along for our final event which is a social.

Wellington Society Meeting
Thursday November 25th 7:30pm, Carter Observatory, Wellington
Drinks and Christmas treats and a quiz.
Come and meet previous speakers and catch up with others in the
Society.

Wairarapa Society Meeting
Friday November 26th at 7:30pm, Phoenix Clubrooms, Ahiaruhi, Wairarapa
Drinks and Christmas treats and a light hearted movie.
Observing will follow the meeting if it is clear.

End of Year Star Party
Saturday 11th Dec, at the Phoenix Observatory (Wet or fine)
To cap off a superb year of observing, our December Star Party will
feature an extended BBQ time and get-together. Observing at the height
of summer never starts until late anyway, with sunset not until
8:47pm, so let's party! We'll provide sausages and soft-drinks; if
everyone who comes along brings a little extra then we'll have a
veritable banquet.
Summertime is here, and with come the magnificent summer Milkyway
constellations of Taurus, Orion and Canis Major. At this time of the
year both the Magellanic Clouds will be high overhead so we'll spend
quality time observing these too. During the early evening both the
crescent Moon and Jupiter will give the planetary observing fans
something to cheer about.
6:00pm: BBQ
8:15pm: Night-Sky AV
8:45pm: Summer Milkyway and the Magellanic Clouds
9:15pm: Observing or Sci-Fi Movie
CHANGE OF NIGHT/CANCELLATION warning: To make the most of an
opportunity to observe we maybe bring the observing night forward to a
Friday. Notices will be posted on our web site also be sent via
Phoenix Announce (phoenix-astro...@googlegroups.com). If
