Hey guys,
I'm also new to this but very excited to get into it, after reading the article in the latest WIRED magazine. I've ordered an Arducopter Hexa and RC controller. As I start to study what it takes, I could really use a tutor to walk me through the basics of using the mission planner as well as the basics of integrating RC control, autopilot, and the mission planner.  I would be happy to pay for someones time to give training.  I'm trying to move along the learning curve quickly.  I live in Ahwatukee near the South Mountain preserve.

Cheers, and thanks for any help or advice you can give. -Paul

Hi Paul,

I live in north Scottsdale. I have been working on a couple of
Ardupilot projects over the last year. Just completed and have had
several successful flights with my quad. Haven't flown auto yet, just
stabilize mode. Welcome to the community...!

Yeah, that seems to be the nature of this field... I order a lot of
components from China. Some companies get my itens here within a
week, sometimes it takes over a month. I ordered a video switch from
a Turkish company... 5 months ago... still haven't received it. I
bought one from China a few months later, got it in a week. I've
written that switch off.

You can see photos of my quad and skywalker on my DIYDrones page...

Sweet! It finally arrived today...quite intimidating, but made significant progress on binding the DX8 Trans to the receiver, got the 3DR telemetry hooked up and radio calibrated within APM. It looks like it is arming well and appears to spin correctly with controls. Don't have the guts yet to put the props on and give it a real test. I'd like to have someone with experience maybe give it a look see? Anybody want to help play with this awesome new toy?

Hey guys, well, I though I had this figured out, went thru all the setups, but on a hand-test, it really want to flip. I've tries reversing channel, changing from "x" to"+"' super-leveling, etc. I the I have all receiver plugs appropriately etc. But when I hold it, I feel pretty good resistance from most sides, but the front-right corner when I dip it back, only spins faster, resulting in a flip. Would love to bring my stuff over to show one of you guys with experIence to give your 10 cents worth. Thanks!
