Dear Ulti-friends,

Apologies in advance for the non frisbee related email, but I thought some might be interested in supporting this project.

Wetland Works!, an NGO which specialises in building natural waste water treatments in Cambodia (for those of you who remember John Allen, he used to work for them) is crowdfunding in order to equip the floating schools on the Tonel Sap Lake with floating toilets and to provide training in hygiene and sanitation to the people living there.
I've known Taber for over two years, and can vouch for him and assure you that this is  a professional organisation dedicated to improving people's lives in Cambodia.

They are in their last week of crowdfunding and still need about 2000 USD by Friday 26th in order to reach their tipping point of 8,000 USD, or else they won't be able to get the project off the ground.
So every donation counts, no matter how small. If you're interested in supporting the project, you'll find all the details for sending money below. You can also contact Taber directly to make a verbal commitment or a cash donation.
Please also share this email with anyone you think would be interested in helping out.

Thanks in advance
Fatima

Dear Friends and Family,

Our team at Wetlands Work! (Irina, Puthea, Chansolyka, Julie, Kevin and myself) is trying something new, and we need your support:

Help us bring our floating toilets – the HandyPods -  to the children of the floating schools on Cambodia’s Tonle Sap Lake!

Together with the World Toilet Organization (“the other WTO”) we are crowdfunding to get this project off the ground. Our goal is to raise $20,000 within the next two weeks, which would mean four floating schools get functioning, non-polluting toilets, AND residents of four floating villages are educated on the importance of hygiene in preventing diarrheal diseases – one of the top killers of young children in Cambodia. If we reach our final goal, we will go to Bangladesh and build a fifth floating toilet at a school there – the first HandyPod outside of Cambodia!

We only have until September 26th 2015 to reach our goal, so please check out our campaign page to learn more about our project, why sanitation on the Lake is crucial for child health, and to donate!  WTO has some neat rewards lined up, including a phonecall from “Mr Toilet” himself – Jack Sim, the founder of WTO.

Help us spread the word about this important issue and support us with a donation if you can! Every little bit helps.

PS: If you are based in Phnom Penh and would rather donate in cash, just get in touch with any of us by email, phone, or on Facebook, and we’ll make the online pledge.
