Hi all, I will be leaving in the next couple of months, so I am looking for someone to run the Phnom Penh Mapping Meetup. It has been quite popular and useful as a networking event so it would be good to keep it going. If you are interested, please reply. I'll start by adding you as an administrator of the Facebook group :-)

By the way, it doesn't have to be one person running the meetup, many people can do it. The main task is meeting new people in the mapping/surveying/remote sensing/developer industries, finding out what they do and inviting the interesting ones to present! An important aspect of the meetup is that it is in both Khmer and English, so you will need to keep making bilingual advertisements and recruiting both Khmer and English presenters. 

Equinox is happy to keep having it there, so you don't need to worry about a venue for now. People who have already expressed an interest are John Weeks and his team at Open Development Cambodia and Sok Lida, I have added them as admins already. The mapping meetup is a neutral event seeking to benefit four sectors: government, NGOs, commercial operations and students. I encourage people from all four sectors to get involved in running the event, both Khmers and Pharangs.

Regarding the Cambodia OpenStreetMap Update Marathons, Mathieu Pellerin and John are fine to keep the going, although you are welcome to contribute there too.
