Hello,

Please join Rizwaan Sabir and Tarek Younis for an exploration of the traumatising effects of Sabir’s surveillance, arrest and detention for suspected terrorism, as captured in his book The Suspect (Pluto Press). The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A.

When: Tuesday June 21st, 7 - 8:30pm

Where: Brady Arts Centre, 192-196 Hanbury St, London E1 5HU and livestreamed on Zoom

How to join: More info & registration.

Writing publicly for the first time about the impacts of his experiences, Rizwaan Sabir argues that these harmful outcomes are not the result of errors in government planning, but the consequences of using a counterinsurgency warfare approach to fight terrorism and police Muslims. To resist the injustice of these policies and practices, we need to centre our lived experiences and build networks of solidarity and support.

Register here.

We want to reach as many potential attendees as possible, so would be very grateful for any promotion you’re able to do!
