Hello,

I previously emailed you about our upcoming event with Rizwaan Sabir and Tarek Younis on Sabir's book The Suspect: Counterterrorism, Islam, and the Security State (Pluto Press).

Due to, and in respect of, industrial action across mainline and underground train services, we have rescheduled this event to Tuesday July 5th.

When: Tuesday July 5th, 7 - 8:30pm

Where: Brady Arts Centre, 192-196 Hanbury St, London E1 5HU and livestreamed on Zoom

How to join: More info & registration.

Writing publicly for the first time about the impacts of his experiences of surveillance, arrest and detention for suspected terrorism, Rizwaan Sabir argues that these harmful outcomes are not the result of errors in government planning, but the consequences of using a counterinsurgency warfare approach to fight terrorism and police Muslims. To resist the injustice of these policies and practices, we need to centre our lived experiences and build networks of solidarity and support. Join Sabir in conversation with Tarek Younis, Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Middlesex University.

Hope to see you there.

Warm regards,

Rosie
