Girard College, at 2101 So. College Ave., still exists and is doing fine.
They were in the news recently during Newt Gingrich's "orphanage campaign"
as one of several institutions in the country that provide a quality
education in a nurturing setting for disadvantaged youth.

It still exists. It is located at 17th or 18th Street (or the street
in between those, Corinthian St.) and Girard Ave.
