did anyone notice the ad in the april 1st inky about the liberty bell
being bought by taco bell, and being known as the taco liberty bell from
now on??
my tv watching friends tell me it was all over the news, and that the park
service was all pissed off about it - tee hee.
i thought it was a pretty good april fool's joke. i was really surprised
that the taco bell corporate mucketymucks had that much of a sense of
humor. anyone have any opinion on this?

I have an opinion, and it should not surprise anyone that I would
express it. I think it was brilliant. The ad agency should get a
bonus.

was it really sponsored by taco bell corp? They sponsored the dana carvy
show a few weeks ago, billed as "The Taco Bell Dana Carvy Show" so
I guess they do have some sense of humor..

I saw it and thought it was amusing. It was so obviously a joke. (some
might argue that the best april fools jokes are the ones which you
can't tell are phony, even after thinking about it for a while, and
discussing it with others.. this wasn't one of those for me, but a
good try nonetheless)

The funniest thing about it was the reaction of people who didn't get
it!

I thought the ad was rather tacky yet quite effective. Our current
national climate makes such a joke credible.

After that whole Don Imus thing it's a bloody relief to see something
not very funny just be tacky and not tasteless..
