Maybe she's pregnant?
Taht would be VERY convenient since she and her husband just split up.
I didn't know that! But it should come as no surprise. I think her ex
should receive a medal for putting up with that dumb bitch. Either
that, or a straightjacket.
K
Maybe I should describe the outfit. It looked like an oversized fake black
leather jacket. The material probably gotten from the back seat of a 75 Buick.
Cecily should take this broad aside & take her shopping somewhere nice. For
a woman, she has no fashion sense whatsoever. Clowns laugh at her.
Oh, so you know what she's like off-screen? You've met her, been around her?
Or are you just acting out?

Freudian slip?
I respectfully disagree. I think Jim Gardner is aging better than most men, and
he is always a class-act on air.
I'm considerably younger than Dave Roberts but have a crush on him regardless.
Lisa Thomas Laury is a beautiful woman, in my opinion, and is also aging
gracefully.
One of the best things Channel 6 has going for it right now is definitely
Michelle McCormack.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!!=:) Those whom you mention have served
us well 'n continue to do so!!!=:) There's an element of comfort that's been
established that helps to keeps them #1 when it comes to TV news in this
market!!! It started with Larry Kane and Jim O'Brien!!!! When the others
came on board, to take the place of those two great guys, they've managed to
hold on to the public, successfully, all these many years!!!=:) (IMVHO)
BTW, we've all had bad hair days!!!=:) Look in the mirror!!!=:)

Having a bad hair day, huh???=:) Why do you use also two times in
one sentence??? BTW, Channel 6 is still #1 with me 'n, not having
read the ratings, lately, I believe you are incorrect!!!=:) hahahahah
haha!!!=:)
Jack, good one. I like this reply.
That's so Philadelphia. I mean that as neither a compliment nor a criticism,
just an observation. Philadelphians -- not all of them, of course, but what
might be called deep-dish, pure-D Philadelphians -- seem to like things to
stay the way they are and seem to like staying put where they are. Very
weird, if you ask me, but then I'm from DC, where everybody's from someplace
else ... and we like it that way. Actually, Channel 6 is very Philadephia.
Tried and true, homely but comfortable like an old shoe, and seemingly happy
to be behind the times. (I mean, what's with the paste-on smiley sun-faces
on the weather map? What is this? 1975? Where's the Doppler radar and 3-D
graphics?)
If you grew up with this environment (not just Ch. 6 -- the whole area), I
guess it can be great, but to outsiders and newcomers it often feels
parochial, claustrophic and mystifying.
But then you are in luck to be able to watch another station that has all the
latest gadgets and gimmicks. A lot of Philadelphia area residents like the fact
that Channel 6 hasn't changed to keep up with the times. We believe that if it
isn't broken, why fix it. Other than one ratings period (I haven't seen the
numbers for November), Channel 6 has been number one... so why change?

Say what you want. In the last 20 years, they have only lost ONE ratings
period. Who needs fancy gadgets to report the news, weather and sports? As long
as there information is reliable, you can keep the gimmicks.
Why don't we dig up John Facenda and Francis Davis while we're at
it...

Right! And who needs newfangled gadgets in cars like air-conditioning, power
steering and CD players. After all, the car will get you where you want to
go without these "gimmicks."
I'm not arguing with your facts. I've lived here for 6 years, and Channel 6
has been at or near the top in local news that entire time, so you're
correct. I just don't understand why ... (Not that the local TV news isn't
terrible in Washington, New York and other more affluent and modern cities.
It's just that it's terrible in a more up-to-date way.)
Then again, it's kind of nostalgic for a guy in his 40's like me. Moving to
Philadelphia is like traveling back to my youth in the 1970's. :-)

You just did!! It seems just like yesterday and I was almost tempted
to turn on the tube to see if what I am now experiencing is all a dream!!=:)
At the time of his retirement, Facenda has been last in the ratings for years.
His popularity is greatly overrated.
Not as far as football is concerned.
K
I don't believe that A/C and power steering are gimmicks... CD players, the
jury is still out. ;)
As for gimmicks, do I need to 'FLY' through the approaching weather pattern to
get a better understanding that a storm is coming?
Do I need to hear annoying music and spinning logos to tell me EVERY story is
important?
Do I need to have the anchor stand and sit more times than I do at mass?
Do I need the anchor to stress his stories with his hand and fist to understand
that I should take this story seriously?
Do I need to have normal stories hyped all night in 'news updates', only to
find out that the story they are referring to happened weeks ago?
Do I need to go on? :P
Lisa is still hot. And very nice to boot. Nice combo.

And her ability to report the news means nothing, right?
Sssscold, you always say that they are only news readers, so we might as well
enjoy their looks. From what I have seen of Lisa, she rarely makes mistakes
while reading the news, so not only is she good looking, but a decent reader as
well.

Venom like that requires a relationship.
So spill it, "lftways"
Well, in that case: who cares?
I would interpret "transparent" to mean "open, free of guile, no hidden

I don't know a whole helluva lot of people who are the same at work as they are
during the rest of their lives. Liftways is clearly a wannabe and sees
everything through that unfortunate prism.
Aw c'mon Sssscold, you know the drill - this is phl.media where any
discussion relating to quality of content is secondary to hair styles and
cosmetic surgery. This newsgroup is not affiliated with the Columbia
