Here are some tips to use when tracking and paying your credit card
bills.

1. Once a month, set up your mail calendar (Y! Calendar for example)
showing the creditor and amount due and the due date.
2. When you pay a bill online and receive a confirmation number,
select and copy that confirmation number to the calendar entry and
change the calendar entry reflecting payment.

For example,

when a due bill arrives, set calendar entry as: Citibank $15 Due
09/20

when you pay the bill online, update entry as: Citibank PD $15
#12345678

You have a record of payment and can save paper from printing/filing
the confirmation page.

3. Set up a recurring notification in your mail calendar to alert when
the closing date occurs for your credit card. The closing date is
typically the date that interest is assessed on your account, if not
specifically noted. This date is consistent.
