Audacious:

I went on and installed Audacious... hey, the dude needs his music... LOL. Anyway, when i start Audacious the theme is messed up, it doesn't use the theme we uses systemwide if you know what i mean.

Second thing is when i try to play a song i get this:

ALSA error
No suitable mixer element found.
snd_mixer_attach failed: Connection refused

I tried, since i use Pulse Audio, to change the settings but even that doesn't seem to work out well and a similar error message pop's up.

Restart from within the desktop environment:

When I am in the DE and I want to restart the laptop from there after a update when needed, it seems that it want's to restart but ends up in a black screen with a non blinking cursor on the top left. Nothing happens after that, except when I press the powerbutton on my laptop, then the system shuts down.

When i first log out and try to restart the laptop from the login screen, all seems to work fine. Could be kernel or nVidia driver related?

Network connection not working properly:

The biggest problem i have at the moment is that when i start up or restart the laptop and the desktop is loaded, one time i have a connection and the other time not. Only after a few shutdowns or restarts the connection starts to work again. That is for Wifi and cable connection.

These are my network cards:

Network cards:   - Realtek RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller
                         - Ralink corp. RT2790 Wireless 802.11n 1T/2R PCIe

I remember last week with the very first iso where i installed the 3.2.18 kernel without BFS, all was fine. I don't know if the problem is in the kernel or something else.

check what dependencies Audacious dragged in with it, it sounds like QT stuff which is why it does look right ...

did you update to the 302 nvidia driver????

No QT stuff is dragged in, i watch that before i install something. ;)
Evince has the same problem by the way. Also looking very old stylish, thus not using the theme Phinx Azur.

I didn't update to the 302 nVidia driver and use the one that came with it, the 295 driver.

ok ... i have found the skins ... install the audacious skins package ... goto Interface >>> Winamp Classic interface ... this will change to the default winamp style ... then right click anywhere on the player ... choose View >>> Interface Preferences .... then adjust your theme and text as required ...

ensure you install all the audio plugins and codecs ... the gtk theme is hard coded into the application i have checked through the code .... and i am not gonna pull the app to bits to change the theme internally ...
