Phinx 2012 64bit - xfce4-mixer appears not to be working right

Every thing installs fine and works, the problem is that when you open up the Mixer plugin and try to "Select Controls" none of the controls are visible after selection and you can only select one control at a time, meaning you cannot select multiple controls.

Also because of this the volume control cannot be adjusted and is stuck at 68%.

Any idea's?

are you using alsa as your primary audio manager ... run alsa-conf as root in terminal ... then run alsa-mixer and see if all the channels are enabled in the alsa mixer .... you can change the levels also to boost the audio level within alsa-mixer

for what it's worth I don't have that issue with the mixer. I can select whatever controls and levels I want.
