Hey everyone.. hope all is well!    Someone asked me about a 302 error today.  Does anyone remember what 302 usually means?   I've been away from PHINMS for a couple years and my memory is fading.

Have not seen one in a while.  I think it is related to the CPA or partner cert.

Thanks Phil!!  Good to hear from you!

I think remember "Inconsistent" is the CPA issue ..  I'm sure this is cert related... and I'll dig in on that a little further.
I remember there were 3 or 4 common errors:
  1. 302 - wrong web page or something to do with a cert (can't remember exactly)
  2. 403 = Needs the "Production" or "Staging" Authorization Activity
  3. Inconsistent - CPA File is not matching or invalid
  4. Invalid Service / Action pair
I will definitely look harder into the cert.

302 is a temporary re-direct. It is not an "error" code, but rather a way to send a request off to a different page while the requested URL is under construction or otherwise not up to date. The more common 301 permanent re-direct is used to support legacy URL's people might have bookmarked, etc. Both can be embedded in the requested page itself, or more commonly configured in a web or proxy server.

In general re-directs are considered kind of "evil" as hackers use them to send unsuspecting people off to naughty web sites, and most browsers have settings to disable them. Obviously one can imagine the mischeif a re-direct could cause with a "secured" app like PHINMS. If your sender is getting 302's I'd talk to the receiver's guys and find out what they think they are up to.

Stay well.

Tom
