Allother software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw support indic languages so why affinity not ? please insist on this matter and fix this, without unicode indic language support designer not choose your product because you not provide indic language support features still version 2.0

However, it does have what appears to be a bug tag, AFD-1907, and so it may be accepted as a bug by Serif, unlike the requests for RTL language support. It may also, though, be one that will be difficult to fix as you suggest.

I also need this fixed ASAP. The glyphs can be found in "Glyph Browser" in fonts like "Arial Unicode MS" or "Tiro Devanagari Sanskrit" so I am sure, there must some way to fix this. Please bump this up. It is unacceptable, that this hasn't been fixed since V1. Ligatures need to be working properly in any graphic software like Affinity products, otherwise we will be kept stuck.

Thank you for your reply. I purchased latest Affinity publisher 2 for ipad - now current version 2.0.4, still indic unicode kannada font showing wrong. Here I attached a screenshot of adobe fresco example with affinity publisher.

The program developers at Serif are shamelessly evading the issue or putting forth one lame excuse or another for not addressing the problem. I suggest that for your simple DTP or page layout needs, the Microsoft Word is enough. If you have Microsoft Publisher, that is a bonus point. Go for them. These programs also support the R to L scripts like Arabic and Urdu. But for your complex layout needs, you have no choice except swallowing the bitter pills like Adobe and Quark. If Serif don't give a damn for your pleas, pay them back in the same coin.

The FREE programs Gimp and Inkscape fully support the Unicode Devanagari (Hindi) and Gurmukhi (Punjabi) fonts. These programs are better than the competing Serif programs. There are excellent training videos on YouTube for them. Microsoft Word and FREE Libre Office are very good for simple layout and DTP jobs. Word and Libre Writer can handle Arabic and Urdu fonts as well.

My only concern to voice for alternatives is because I'm disheartened by Affinity's lack of response to our requests for Indic font support. One of their visions is to ensure accessibility for all, but they still don't listen to us.

This is a fantastic addition to his model space ship collection (which includes items from the US, European, Chinese and Russian space programs). It is well made, detailed and heavy for it's size, and arrived in the US carefully and securely packaged within days of me placing the order. I gave it to him this morning and he is delighted with it.

Met my expectations, and am really feel proud to put it on my display shelf in the living room.

The model is encased in a clear PVC case. Have not removed it to check the material of the model. Trust it is Anodised aluminium, as advertised.

Post my last review in which i graded then 3* bcos of misprint of ashok chakra in national flag, I received a call from indic customer support team(i didnt made any call for replacement or return). They just asked me to send them pic of the misprinted item & they said that we will send another piece. On 3rd day i recd a new table flag from indic which was a perfect one.( without asking for replacement of old one)

I never came across any organisation which has such high level of concern & dedication for customer satisfaction, which forced me to write this review.

On my Linux system, if I try to type indic characters (specifically Kannada) in gvim (via ibus), the display is so garbled, I can barely see what has been typed. Is it the expected behaviour? Can Gvim display all the utf characters properly like pluma (another editor under Linux) does?

This is a known problem and has been discussed a couple of times in the past. Unfortunately, Vim is not really good suited to the specifics of indic fonts and therefore in the current implementation displays them a bit garbled. Having said that, a PR implementing proper support would certainly be appreciated.

I'm trying to write in Hebrew, which is from right to left, on Illustrator CS6.This is not working, and all my words are written backwards.Everywhere I look it says to enable Indic options. However, Illustrator CS6 does not have this option.Any idea how I can either install indic options or find some other way to write from right to left?

However, the scarcity of translators fluent in multiple languages has created a pressing need for a dedicated model tailored to excel in the unique realm of ST tasks across diverse languages. Recent advancements in ST have predominantly focused on high-resource languages, leaving a significant gap for low-resource languages that face a substantial catch-up journey. The attention imbalance is primarily due to the scarcity of data for low-resource languages, as most deep-learning models depend on data abundance. Acquiring such data for low-resource languages poses a formidable challenge.

While a considerable body of research is dedicated to ST across diverse language families, there is a noticeable gap in investigating this domain concerning low-resource Indian languages. Currently, there are no datasets specifically designed for the ST task in Indian languages, covering both the Indo-Aryan and the Dravidian language families. The goal of this research is to create either an End-to-End (E2E) or a Cascaded Speech-to-Text (ST) model that encompasses all Indian languages.

The aim of this Indic-track shared task is to establish a speech translation model that spans a diverse array of dialects and low-resource languages originating from the Indo-Aryan and Dravidian language families in India. Given that a significant portion of the data is sourced from very low-resource languages, these languages remain largely unexplored in the realm of speech translation. Compounding this challenge is the fact that many of the target languages are distantly related to English. Consequently, we anticipate that relying solely on pre-trained models may encounter numerous obstacles. The dataset provided will serve as the inaugural benchmark and gold standard dataset, encompassing all major Indian languages. Our aspiration is for participants to develop systems capable of real-world deployment in the future.

The ST task data for the Indic-track will encompass three Indian languages representing diverse language families.
