Essentially a survival film setin space, Helping Hand tells a storyakin to that of Gravity (2013). Afterspace debris causes a malfunction in her life support system and sends herdrifting in space, a lone space engineer must make a small sacrifice in order tosurvive.

The short is but another love letter to the art form that is animated filmmaking. It features beautiful, breathtaking scenes that are nothing less than memorable, even when grouped together with the plethora of animated marvels featured in the series.

A reporter is given theopportunity to interview a reclusive artist, renowned for his spectacles ofblue art that have taken this futuristic world by storm. His pieces are said tohave been inspired by the cosmos and the reporter is soon going to find out thetruth.

Zima was never content with the fame he received from being an artist because he never saw value in it. In the pursuit of happiness, he reverted himself into a state where he could do nothing else but the one thing he found meaning in. It might not be the peak of his arete, but Zima realized that it has the happiest he ever was and the happiest he ever will be.

So, in the end, the message Zima Blue wants to leave you with is this: Your life is in your hands and its meaning is whatever you want it to be. Whether you wish to live the best life you can or not, the choice is yours and yours alone.

Blind Spot is a throwback into days of 90s Saturday morning cartoons when everything was about just being cool and blowing stuff up. It follows four robots attempting to steal a microchip from a heavily guarded transport vehicle. But because of some unforeseen circumstances, things go sideways.

A young couple moves into theirnew apartment where they find an old-timey refrigerator. To their surprise, they find entire miniature lost world frozen in time living inside their freezer. From their perspective, this civilization advances multiple centuries inminutes. The tiny civilization eventually nukes the hell out of each otherbefore progressing to a futuristic era where they build something that either blowsthem all up or teleports their world somewhere. Regardless, it happens in abeautiful spectacle of dancing lights.

Thank you so much! So glad you like LDR so far :D :D :DAnd yes, that's definitely what they need, but you'll find Sun and Moon will sooner fight than talk as things are now... They are so enmeshed in believing their counterpart is a heartless person after all that has happened... it would take something quite drastic for them to start to question that belief... ;)

Hey just wanted to say I absolutely LOVE Love, Death and Rollerskates and was wondering if its okay that I make a Character ai set in the world of the fic? I'll obviously credit u and all, just wondering if its okay.

*Clears throat* Hi! I apologize if this has bothered or disturbed you from something and I also apologize if I asked in a bad moment right now? but may I ask if the background/other characters will get their own design's too? :> just curious-! Cause I've only noticed sun n' moon have their own design's so I was a little curious if the other characters like Lorraine, William and Gregory will have their own design's too? I also loved the newest chapter you've done-! ?

Amusing thing about this that would most likely annoy moon considering he's been watching them..Is y/n fell for sun first. And sun knows that now (but thinking it's just him of course)..yet moon being the desperate bot he seems to be lately..ended up kissing them firstOh I can just imagine sun would absolutely hate that if he ever finds out

Moon would be pretty smug about the fact he kissed them first though, if it wasn't for the fact that he thinks the kiss is what pushed y/n right back into the arms of Sun... (he has no idea y/n found out something they weren't supposed to!)

As a member of the death positivity movement, I see very commonly how the natural progression of death is cleaned away and tidied up. We spend most of our natural lives avoiding the idea, desperately trying not to age or show the inevitable march towards the earth in any facial lines- any hint at death is met with abject horror, denial or even anger, then as soon as we die we are marked as unclean, tidied away into boxes and filled with chemicals to halt putrefaction. It is a terror that is so rarely seen in the harsh light of day. It is a primal reminder of our humanity, and society today rebels against it. As soon as the giant begins to decay, so does his value, and he is swept away from sensitive constitutions, scrubbed from the earth.

I watched all of this with a sad frown, the layers and layers of my thoughts unfolding like a weathered rose- the horror of disrespect, a pained empathy, a little mourning and on top of it all, that bitter lack of surprise.. I knew an outlet was necessary, so I resolved to share and encourage others to watch it. I can only hope that such a beautiful and sad reflection will give others pause to reflect on the fleeting beauty of life, and the value of sharing and preservation.

OK what about all the western animation that IS popular with many non geek adults, Rik and Morty, Bojack Horseman, Family Guy, American Dad, Duckman (more obscure but my fave!) and so on. Even the daddy of them all again; The Simpsons.

It certainly made an impact on me at that impressionable age, the opening sequence as a car flies out of a spaceship and heads to earth as the commuter astronaut arrives home was ingrained on my tiny blown mind for ever. I later found out this was made by TVC, the studio where I started my animation career a few years later.

Anyway, moving on from that; The Witness is rather brilliant. Mainly because it looks utterly amazing (especially as I saw it at the quite luxurious press screening on a fab big screen with a free beer).

Aside from the visuals, to underpin this is a frenetic looping violent narrative set in the seedy sex industry of a future dystopian city ****, which is probably voyeuristic and possibly misogynistic (although then perhaps you would have to say the same about every horror film with a woman in peril ?). Without wishing to spoiler alert, the hero turns out to be not the passive victim as first presented, which I guess could be argued re-balances the power dynamic?

Zima Blue tells the story of a mysterious artist of seemingly superhuman talents who invents a new colour blue, which gives a clue to his origins. Interestingly Valley had seemingly worked with Mielgo at one point, on the beautiful intro for X-Box Beatles Rockband.

Bronze medal goes to Three Robots (directed by Victor Maldonado and Alfredo Torres for Blow Studio), a more light-hearted story this time of post apocalyptic robots and cats. The film is in a more conventional 3D, CG style and features (guess what) three robots with nice design reflecting distinct archetypal personality types, witty dialogue and features an amusing and unpredictable ending.

Forth champions league spot for me goes to Fish Night, directed by Damien Nenow for Platige Image Studio. A lovely cartoon rendered, Twilight Zone-esque CG entry, with a psychedelic ending, another good one for the Midnight Movie (or TV) stoners.

Then When the Yoghurt Took Over, (which is directed in a very stylised cartoon geometric CG style, again by Victor Maldonado and Alfredo Torres at Blow Studio (yes thats Blow not Blur, not a typo), does what it says on the pot, the yoghurt takes over. Quite amusing.

Secret War (directed by Itsvan Zorkoczy at Digic Pictures) has a bunch of battle hardened WW2 soldiers fighting some kind of undead alien hive colony, resulting in non stop action, explosions and gore. Slightly more stylised this one, which works in its favour.

Overall though I have to say the bar for the quality of these is set really high and they are a welcome addition to the animation universe. I hope everyone tunes in and they then make lots more because it can only be a good thing. I wish I was a 14 year old these days, because wow, they certainly are spoiled rotten.

When Aidan died, I inherited his tax bill and his estate. Now, I am the keeper of the keys. The holder of the copyright of his work. The person who must sign off on casting and script decisions. And yet I know nothing about theatre. It has never been my domain. I sit in the dark with the rest of the audience, transfixed by what unfolds before me, but I do not understand the backstage.

Aidan wrote many plays in his career. He also directed some and starred in the earlier ones when he ran a theatre company with two of his friends. As his career grew, his plays became more ambitious in scope and style, moving away from the one-act, hour-long pieces to large-scale, main-stage productions.
