Hi all,

I downloaded the phinch desktop version (phinch 2), but when I tried to visualize the data, it was impossible for me to be able to change the bars of the graph according to the different taxonomic levels, just showed phylum. I need to see the composition of the data at different levels, How  can I customize the app to displays the option of the different taxonomic levels???

Hi Julieth,

This may be an issue with file formatting - the Phinch app supports BIOM file formats 1.0 and 2.0 right now. If you look in your JSON file (Biom 1.0) or convert your BIOM 2.0 HDF5 file back to JSON format, your taxonomy strings should look like the box below. Phinch is assuming you have these values comma separated. If not then the App will not separate the taxonomic ranks into levels.

See also the BIOM file format documentation here for further info on formatting: https://biom-format.org/documentation/format_versions/biom-1.0.html

Can you have a look and let me know if that fixes the problem?

Holly
