When I try to export a figure from Phinch using the "Export" button I get an error message reading "unable to download image!" I've tried it with data from two different .biom files and received the same error message. I receive the same message for all of the different types of plots.

Hi Ted, this is a known bug that we're working to fix. You can keep track of the bug fix status on our Github issue tracker here: https://github.com/shujianbu/Phinch/issues

Thanks Holly! For future reference, would you prefer that bug reports be posted on Github or here on the Google Group?

If you're comfortable with Github, posting issues there would be great - that way our software developers can see them more quickly as they crop up.

Hi Holly,

The export feature still doesn't seem to work. Any idea on when this feature will be fixed?

Hi Ted,

We've been having some ongoing issues with the Share and Export features in Phinch (related to the SVG canvas and communication with our cloud servers hosted by MediaTemple). We're still investigating the cause, since it's not quite clear why the Export feature is malfunctioning. It works for some people and fails to export entirely for others. Will post updates as we know more - keep an eye out on our list of Github issues for more information and developments: https://github.com/PitchInteractiveInc/Phinch/issues

I can't give an estimate as to when it will be fixed (we're in between funding cycles right now), so just keep an eye out on Github.

Thanks,

Holly

Hi Holly,
Thanks for the update. I completely understand. Similar to what you describe, I've had off-and-on success at exporting images from Phinch. I'll keep an eye on Github. Thanks again for all your hard work on this cool project! I hope the funding officers see the value in it and fill your lab's coffers ASAP :)
