Subject: [ilugb] Call for Proposals - Mukthi 11.04 - Annual FOSS
Conference at MSRIT
To: ILUG Bengaluru <ilug-be...@googlegroups.com>

I am Anil Kumar M from MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology. I represent
VRLINUG, the GNU/Linux Users Group at MSRIT.

Annually, we conduct  Mukthi, a premier, student focused, Free and
Open Source Software (FOSS) event.   It  serves  as   a  forum  for
promoting   FOSS   among  the  student   community,  and  spreading an
awareness of how FOSS can be a good alternative to proprietary
software. It consist of talks by well recognized experts from the FOSS
world, as well as professionals from the software industry. It was
very well received. More than 350 delegates (mostly students), from
various colleges in the state, attended each editions of event.

Andrew Cowie, a renowned speaker and developer as well as maintainer
of the JavaGNOME bindings project, delivered the keynote at the
event, thus lending it international recognition. Major companies such
as IBM, HP, Wind River, KFIL, participated in the event, by sponsoring
it and speaking about how Free and Open Source software is a part of
their organization.

The success of the event, the positive response of the sponsoring
organizations as well as the exposure the delegates received from the
sponsoring organisations, prompted us to think on a much larger scale
for the next event.

Accordingly, Mukthi 11.04 (The numbers representing April 2011), to be
held on April 23 rd  and 24th will feature a host of talks by FOSS
luminaries.
Every successful event requires a successful organization to
participate in it and support it. Mukthi 11.04 is no exception. We
would be honored if you would participate in Mukthi 11.04. The
participation would bring you greater exposure in the student
community and offer you opportunities to interact with them.

If you wish to be a part of Mukthi as a speaker and do fill in the
requirements at http://mukthi.vrglinug.org/speaker.php

Please let us know if you would like more details regarding the event.
We can also meet you in person if
required.

Thank you very much!
Regards,
Anil Kumar M
