Textbook / texts Suggestions

people looking for texts, either for teaching purposes or to use with
their own children / give as gifts. A thread is started.... lost...
rewritten and posted again - so I'd like to propose a discussion that
could be continually added to and used as a reference in the future,
rather than lost on a regular basis! I can always then turn this into
an updated page.
I would suggest this thread be for fiction and non-fiction books, with
another devoted to non-print later.
- Some that have been mentioned in the past feature on the Skeptic.com
website, so I'll start with a link to those.

- I have noticed several texts by Ben Radford and Joe Nickell being
promoted in the past on that Skeptic.com site (such as those on the
http://www.inquiringminds.org/bookshelves/ site and 'Lake Monster
Mysteries' - http://www.radfordbooks.com/lakemonstermysteries.html)
- One problem is that these are American books and not easily
available in Australia. There's also the ever-popular Dr Karl, who is
on tour at the moment with his twenty-sixth book, 'Please Explain.'
