Earlier this year, I was fairly addicted to the Amazon Religion Forum.  It began to interfere with life -- I was checking it, and replying, during working hours.

Thankfully, Karen "Will I Never Get Out Of (this) Forum" (née "...Vortex") said that she was going to take a break.  So I also gave up the ARF for Lent.

Lent is long over, but the nice thing about giving something up for Lent (and no, I'm not Catholic) is that, if done right, it shows you what's important in your life, and what isn't.  The ARF isn't.  Although I must say, some of the people are.

That's what I miss about posting to ARF -- some of the people.  Popellina Karen in particular, but others who I had hoped would find their way to this site.  I miss you very much.  Alas, there was not enough of a critical mass to make a go of it here.  I didn't post anything here, in part because I have more answers than questions.  The problem is that I don't often know what my answers are until a topic gets raised.

In all honesty, I did pop into ARF a few weeks ago, just to see the old place.  You can't go home again.  In the time that I (and Karen?) have been away, it appears to have become even more ruled by toxic people extracting toxic responses from people.  There's little discourse left, just the usual sniping, and the very tired old arguments.  Atheists v. theists, neither understanding the other.

But a few posts triggered a few ideas, which I want to post here.

------------------------------

I had another relapse, and have actually posted there again.   But I don't think I'll be staying long, unless Karen can revive Humoristianism.  ARF is sorely in need of such a Revival Meeting.
