The Free Market is the most just economic system.
The United States should adopt complete free trade.
The United States should abolish the minimum wage.
The Congress should abolish "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
Child labor does more good than harm.

Science has a monopoly on truth in the civilized world.

The decline in the American public education system will be the death of the Republic.

States ought to be able to succeed from the Union if both houses of their legislature and their governor affirm that it is necessary.

The stolen GW flag in VB11 represents the triumph of good over evil.

Psychology is an institution of secular morality, not a science.

The ownership of guns should be heavily restricted in the United States.

The War of Northern Aggression proved that the American Constitution was not a viable governing document.

Milton's Satan is the archetype of the modern hero.

Cicero was a coward.

Some resolution on Casablanca involving a Philodemic Movie night prior to.

Rick, and not Victor Lazzlo, is the more useful member of the Casablanca Republic.

The United States of America is an Empire.

Religion no longer provides the best understanding of man's place in the world.

Happiness is the highest good.

Personal relationships are required in order for someone to be happy.

People are inherently good.

The House, and not the Senate, is the more useful body of the American Republic.

Is the remark about Mirco being disgustingly European a resolution?  I'm down.

Regarding Casablanca, I've often used the film to argue the difference between high art and popular culture, i.e. does "art" belong to the people who make it or the people who observe it?

However, if all you want to do is talk about Casablanca, why not go the whole nine and do the classic high school film class debate: Casablanca and not Citizen Kane is the greatest film of all time.  There's a lot to work with there.

Frankly, I'm encouraged that you all want to talk about this, but I wonder if there are too many politicians and not enough poets in the philodemic to do the debate justice.  The hippie/banker ratio is simply too skewed in the bankers' favor, I'm afraid...

Bonne chance, friends :)

Power, not ideals, is the basis of politics.
The Lorax is a hero.
American exceptionalism does more harm than good.
The American dream is a noble lie.
The United States should not have entered World War I.
Art should be created for its own sake.
