In Person Events

Hey guys. It's been awhile, I hope everyone's doing well, staying safe and working on getting back to some sense of normalcy. With the vaccines rolling out, I'm putting out feelers for what the future of in person warmachine looks like in our area. 

I spoke to the owners of Nerdvana and we're hoping to put a decent sized event together for June (maybe 16 players or so, unsure yet). Has anyone reached out to any other store for a timeline? 

Really hoping we can rejuvenate the interest once live events can start happening. 

Take care and hopefully I can start seeing everyone soon!

You know, mage hunter making a comeback, along with some of the other Hardcore alternative win mechanics would be awesome. They were a great way to still be “in the running” even though you lost a game.

Great idea. Derek, we can use the Battle Pilgrims battle bunker in the Philadelphia Navy Yard for an in person tournament. We ran a small WMH event there some months back and are running a 14 person tournament for Kings of War this Saturday. We could easily accommodate a 20 person Warmachine event or even just a games day in this huge space that under non COVID conditions can accommodate a 100 person event.

Sure. Michael Ireland, Kat and I are part of a group that formed The Battle Pilgrims miniature gaming club. We play multiple gaming systems. It is run from a large gym in my office that is turned into a gaming room on a weeknight most weeks and a monthly games day or tournament. It is a space that could hold over 100 players, but under COVID conditions we have kept the numbers low to allow for lots of spacing.

The below link is to the players pack of a different gaming system tournament that we are running this Saturday that is fully subscribed. In P2 under the Venue section you have pictures of the space. Any of you are also welcome to come by Saturday if you want to check out the space. The venue address, which is in the Philadelphia Navy Yard, is also in this Players Pack.

I've been there and can confirm it is a fantastic location for events, and Marcelo is a great host. We went in the middle of covid and I felt extremely safe with a mask and provided sanitizer, and plenty of room to spread the tables out. 10/10 would run a steamroller there.

Yes, we sure do :). We have a 14 participant KoW event this Sat and the only reason we do not have more is that is the cap we set. We will be running a 2 day Grand Tournament later in the year when hopefully COVID will be subdued enough that we can drastically increase the cap, and if we find a WMH TO, it can run concurrently

Yes Rob, it is akin to that. Weeknight gaming is free, but our 1 Sat per month full day games day we are asking for $10 per player that we put towards tables and terrain. And you get unlimited coffee/tea/filtered water and the use of a big lunchroom with fridges and microwaves if you'd like to bring your own food for that money. Members and visitors pay the same. It's all about growing the community
