Updates!

[Philly Twestival]

First, thank you to Gloria for getting us all confirmed with National Mechanics! I'll be updating the website today between marathons of graph making here at work.

Second, I met with the lovely ladies at MANNA this morning. MANNA is just starting to ramp up their social media presence and try to target the young adult demographic, so our involvement with them is very timely! If you haven't already, please follow them on Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/mannanourishes) and like them on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/MANNA-Metropolitan-Area-Neighborhood-Nutrition-Alliance/6239954323). One of the HUGE things we can do besides raise money for them is raise awareness for their organization, since they rely heavily on volunteers to keep doing what they do.

As part of my meeting with them this morning, they are very excited about our event, which is 1 week before their big gala event for the year. They plan on being at and supporting our event as well though, and would like a table as well as to do a short thank you spiel and show a video about MANNA at the beginning of the event, which I told them should be no problem at all. One thing we need to keep in mind as we solicit for raffle prizes, is before we approach someplace, we need to run it by the people at MANNA first to make sure that we aren't already bothering places that they are trying to get donations from for their gala event. We shouldn't have much overlap, our audiences are very different, but it is a perfectly logical, reasonable request. So before approaching someplace for a raffle prize, please let me know, so that I can run it by the lovely ladies at MANNA and make sure we aren't pestering people too much for donations.

I've gotten a couple of responses so far on Twitter, and have sent out a few emails, but every little bit helps.

I also forgot to include on the update on National that I have been exchanging phone messages with John from SCVNGR.  If we can work out details, they would be happy to be involved.  I will let you know as soon as we have a more detailed conversation.
