How about a show and tell of 2010, in particular the logic of the new
UI. There is a comparison/critique on YouTube.

That's a good idea. How many people in this group have had a chance to
use it yet?

I've been able to a little bit.

The Ribbon interface not as bad as I had expected, but it definitely
takes a little getting used to (just like Office 2007 did)

The 23rd would be better for me. We can do live demo of 2010. Not much in the way of new and exciting features for any of the flavors except maybe Arch (unless you call the ribbon a feature...)

Ive been playing with the 2010's for a while now as well. As much as I'm not a fan of the new UI they have added a few other features though like the curtain wall patterns and the gbxml export check dialog window. Ill try to make the next get together as well.

Although it may not be a “plus” for advanced/experienced users, I’m of the opinion that the new UI should make Revit easier for newbies to navigate and really adopt the software instead of fighting w/ it.  Only time will tell, but as someone who is tasked w/ supporting the users as opposed to actually using the software for production, I’m looking forward to this release to possibly ease my headaches a bit lol.

Both dates are open for me, so I’ll try to make the next mtg as well.

As of today, both dates work good me also. Sounds like a good topic!

1. As it's rapidly approaching, let's go for the 23rd.
2. Does anyone want to host this or shall we see about getting the AIA?
3. 6:00pm work?
4. Instead of last time having 1 person present 2010, let's have all
the Alpha/Beta testers do free form presentation/discussion on the
major new features. -yes?
5. We need to get a head count to know how many slices of pizza or
blocks o' cheese and wine we need. Do you folks like the evite
technology or does google something else?
6. what else?

I've been trying to generate some buzz here at Ballinger . I'll see
if I can get at least a few of our more experienced people to come.
Do we know what the specific ship date is? I'm thinking its before
the 23rd, so it should give most people a chance to play around at
least a little bit before seeing what the alphas have to say. (I
haven't gotten to use it yet... I've just been watching every video on
it I can find)
