Hello,
The AIA has offered us the use of their conference room(s) from 6-8pm
or 6-9pm.
We would just need to cover the cost of the employee who would need to
stay to keep the building
open. $20 per hour. So $40 if we stay 2 hours/ $60 for 3 hours.

If People want to meet that night -- Might we get a sign up going so
that we have a rough idea of what
we would each need to contribute? i imagine that there are quite a
few people who would like to attend so
it should be less that $5 each...even if we stay for the 3 hour slot.
I know of at least 2 others besides myself
who would attend.

Robert - if you would be interested in presenting , that would be
awesome! My vote goes for some
form of family creation....nesting...etc. but I would be thrilled
with whatever the majority or You want to
present....

Mary Ann

I could do something, Pennoi offered their space for free, we might do better to take them up on that offer.

I'm tentatively available on the following dates:

Aug 17-20, 24-27

However I might need to be in DC somewhere in there, and other then that my schedule is full.

Cheers,

As regards topic, we'd be interested in constraints and basic
parametric functionality you can set up in families.
By the way we are very interested in participating in this group. We
anticipate really ramping up with Revit more so this fall.

Finally we'd also be interested in a BIM Management panel or
roundtable. Meaning as you grow more and users and projects how do you
keep it under control and well managed. Looks like there is a lot more
opportunity for a free for all and potential for cowboys to do their
own thing instead of following the office standards (some staff can
move off and on projects and have come clue as to what's going on).

I think any Family topic would be well received, and I'd be happy to participate in a BIM Management panel.  We've been pretty fortunate  in terms of keeping things (or maybe I should say "getting things back") under control here.

Thanks,
Jim

Sounds Great. BOOK IT!
Decide which date works best for you & Jim and book the space so that people can
save the date.

I'm available to participate August 17-19 and August 24-27.

I'm interested in both the Family creation and BIM Management topics.  If I had to choose one for this meeting, I'd probably go with Family creation. We've done a fair amount here, but I'm always intrigued by what others have done and how they've pushed the envelope.

So has an actual date been decided?  What about a location?  Since I offered up our space here at Pennoni, I need to reserve the space if it in fact is needed.  Let me know ASAP so I can make the arrangements if need be.

Thanks,

Tim

Well unless someone is going to pay for the AIA fee I don't think we have a choice in the matter.  I vote for the 18th.

If someone sets the official date(!), and I get a list of names in advance of those who need parking, I can possibly get some free spots right out front in the building’s gated lot.  No guarantees on the number of spots that might be available, so first come first serve.  Otherwise there is metered parking on JFK Blvd, as well as a large gated parking lot for a fee.  However, the lot off of JFK tends to be expensive, so I recommend the smaller lot on Market, just west of the Drexel Goodwin College entrance.  For those who can use SEPTA, we’re just a short walk across from 30th Street Station.  See this Google link http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=3001+Market+St,+Philadelphia,+PA+19104&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=52.637906,100.634766&ie=UTF8&ll=39.955556,-75.184143&spn=0.003142,0.006142&t=h&z=18  for a bird’s eye view.  FYI, the entrance to Pennoni’s gated lot is off Market.

Regardless of how you get here, I will in fact need a list of everyone’s names to give to security.

For those who haven’t been here, you enter the glass doors on the east side of the Drexel Plaza building at 3001 Market.  Note after 6p, the doors will be locked, so just knock and the guard will let you in.  Check in w/ security (a photo ID is req’d), then take the elevator up to the 2nd floor.  Once in our lobby, you will want to proceed thru the glass doors on the left, then make an immediate left turn towards the “library” on the left (2nd door).  I’ll try to make sure the glass doors are open, since it requires a key card to enter otherwise.

What about food/drinks?  Do you guys have a reseller you would like to get involved w/ hopes of having them sponsor this meeting?

Let me know and I’ll get working on all of this.

The 18th works for me as well, as does Pennoni's location.

Have we settled on a topic yet?
