Dead no, hard to keep momentum, yes. Got an idea for a topic? What to help plan a mtg? Let us know.

Thanks for asking.

I would love join and to help plan a meeting. is there a meeting site or does the group meet
at different locations each time?

my idea for a topic?  for starters...window family creation and nested groups of manufacturer based revit families within window family creation....

we have either met at the AIA or KlingStubbins in the past. The AIA has a nice space, but it is very popular, so we need to get on their calendar. Its free, which is good. I'm personally quite familiar with nest families, in particular windows. the group attracts engineers and arch/interior, so it might be good to make sure that they can take something away from the topic too.

I thought about hosting a meeting here, but I'd have to get the go-ahead from upper management.  I think some of you have already been to our building.  Oh the other hand, we don't utilize Revit here yet, so I feel like an imposter.

Awesome. I am actually going to be at the AIA offices for an event tomorrow at 11:30am.
I would be happy to check the calendar. -- would we use one of the small conferences room or the large space?   do we work on our laptops or is it mostly conversational?

At any rate, I must leave my desk right now but would be happy to touch base with the AIA tomorrow
morning if you would like. I will check back this evening ...
Thanks,
M

We used their large space off the bookstore last time. In the past we have done presentations/discussion. We can certainly do more of a group discussion format if someone is prepared to be moderator, and keep the conversation going. People usually bring their own laptops if anything is needed. I almost always carry mine.

Or how about the topic how to create your own niche.  Everything from discipline to the family to creation of an element.   I have no idea how to do it all, but I would defiantly want to know.

Don’t forget that Pennoni is available as a potential location as well.  The Revit group met here at 30th & Market once in 2008, which is very convenient for SEPTA riders.  Our large conference room is hardwired for both A&V and can accommodate a fairly large group.  Robert, you remember presenting here in 2007 for the ACEC event on BIM don’t you?  Getting the space again after hours should not be a problem, just let me know.

Cheers,

Is any one interested in Presenting a family creation issue? - architectural or interior? I would imagine
that family creation of a window or door would be accessible to all, as we all, architects, engineers, interior designers, lighting designers etc. all deal with these...

IF not, I would be very happy to visit anything that anyone wants to Present/discuss. Does anyone
in the group care to present?

I will find out the availability tomorrow so that we can start a dialogue regarding
time to meet.

Unless I hear otherwise, I will assume that we would not schedule to meet before 6pm on a Mon-Thurs.

That'll be great - this group could use all the help it can get! It
sounds like Robert is volunteering below for the family topic.
It might be a fun idea to have everyone interested bring in one or two
of their best or question-ridden families to show and/or solve.
