I am on the hunt. Any favorites? Requirements are as follows:

1. No jQuery. At all.
2. Liberal license, or GPL < 3.
3. Clean code output.
4. The less it looks like the Word toolbar the more I love it.

Thanks in advance,

Walter

Thanks very much, Chad. That was on my list, and I may still go with it.

Any other suggestions?

We've been using CKEditor in a few places and we have been happy with it so far.

I like the medium editor.  The following is a pretty good knockoff.

I'd be interested in one that's good for entering code or technical
details. I didn't like the CKEditor demo because there was no simple
button to put text in a fixed-width ("code") font, and when typing in
multiple lines of code it put in a paragraph break every time I hit
Return, and you needed multiple controls to get a code box with a
background color or something to make it stand out from the
surrounding text.

All that said, I haven't yet spent the time to find an editor I'm
really happy with, so I should try the other recommendations here.

Thanks,
Aaron
