Click here to go to the MTMS website:  https://majortaylorsummit.wordpress.com/

If you haven't registered and paid your $50 yet, please do so.  We have 75 who have signed up so far.  Don't be that person who waits to the last minute.  Click on the link to the right and get it done.

Of course the Summit is all about riding your bike, but we do have some things planned for you.  Check out the list below, and then visit the Schedule of Events page on the website.

Wednesday, 9 PM:   Welcome Reception at the Thirsty Monk Tavern (Hoppy American beers upstairs, Belgians downstairs)

Thursday, Lunch:  On the way back into town have lunch in the beautiful courtyard of the Creperie Bouchan on Lexington Avenue.  Roll your bike up the walkway and into this awesome little café.

Thursday, 5:30 PM:  MTMS Party and Honor Awards, Barleys Taproom, upstairs.

Friday, ~ 2:30 PM:  Post ride pizza and beer at Asheville Pizza and Brewing

Friday, ~5:30 PM:  An evening with SRAM Bike Components.  Reps will be showing us their newest and greatest stuff.  Location TBD.

Friday, 7 PM:  Check out Asheville’s weekly Drum Circle in Pritchard Park (just a block from the hotel).  Bring your drum and be a part of this party!

Saturday, post-ride:  Stop at The Wedge Brewing, on the French Broad River near the traffic circle in the River Arts District for the city’s best IPA (plus some other good styles).  Food trucks and great outdoor seating.

Saturday, 5:30 PM:  Stroll to the historically African American commercial district (one block from Barleys) for a social hour with the Western NC Diversity Engagement Coalition (they threw a party for us last year!)  We will be a place called Block off Biltmore.

Saturday, 6:30 PM:  Move next door to the YMI Cultural Center and join WNCDEC and Leaders of some Major Taylor Clubs to talk about our histories working on cycling in the black community, lessons learned, efforts at social outreach, and advice that we can offer on increasing cycling among African American adults and youth in Asheville.

Saturday, 8 PM:  (or when we finish the panel discussion).  Meet in front of Barley’s for an Asheville Beer Crawl. We will eat at a food truck, probably.   There are 10 breweries within a 10 minute walk of hotel.  We are going to see how many we can visit before we give out.
