This is happening on all the google groups I belong to. A solution: ban the offending spammers and change the settings of the group so it's invite only.

Hey Jonny - I've been seeing the same thing from many of the google groups I belong to as well. I just went through and reported & banned all the spammers on the groups that I manage, hopefully others will do the same :)
