Today is Monday, and you know what that means! We will meet tonight for food, fun, and this week: SERVICE!

A week ago a group from UniLu traveled to 57th and Christian streets, to repair water damage at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Well, after many hours of scraping paint, eating pizza, and talking to Immanuel members about the homelessness problem in the city, we didn't even get to lay a finger on a paintbrush. THE WORK IS NOT DONE! JOIN US TONIGHT TO HELP FINISH IT! Don't worry, you won't get wet, all of the work is INSIDE the church. Wear old clothes, though. Meet A LITTLE BEFORE 6PM in the church parking lot, or by the back door. Just head around to the back and find us there. Mark Parker, LTSP student and husband of UniLu alum Christine (Myers) Parker is doing his one year seminary placement at Immanuel, so that's even more reason to help our neighbors out. If you can drive there, that might be helpful.

Looking to the future: Now is the time to sign up for the LSM National Gathering in Denver Colorado. Spend your winter break on the slopes! A ski trip is being arranged afterwards. Contact Josh Kelly ( josha...@gmail.com) for more information. Funding is available for interested parties.

UniLu church council is looking for interested students for the 2008-2009 term! (terms are 2 years). What exactly does this entail? Once a month (currently the third Tuesday) potluck dinner meetings where all the important church matters are discussed. Meeings generally last a few hours. It is extremely important to have student representation on council! Aside from joining any of the many committees available, this is a great way to have a say in how things are done. Contact Beth ( oobet...@gmail.com) or Kristen (kri...@gmail.com) for more information about council or for a list of current committees you can serve on. If you have any interest, don't hesitate to ask!

If you have movie ideas for the spring semester, please contact Beth or Kristen to get them added to the list. Service project, game, and craft ideas are also welcome, as is your skill at cooking dinner.

Or, if you are interested in serving in a Peer Ministry position (1 or 2 are currently open), please contact Fred in the office (un...@uniluphila.org). There is a stipend for your hard work.

Now is also the time to turn in your pledge cards for the coming year at UniLu. A lot of you missed the Stewardship talk last week, but asking parents or grandparents to help financially support the ministry that happens at UniLu can really aid the church greatly.

I'll try to have the Stewardship talk up on the web soon, so you can read that and many other things at www.uniluphila.org/campusministry

There's always so much more going on, and I don't want to take up your whole day with this email, so check the website, and join the Lutherans at Penn Drexel and the Rest of Philadelphia group on facebook.

Sorry I missed going back to Immanuel.  How about Babette's Feast for a film night?
