Development & Operations Coordinator | Position Description

JUNTOS is currently seeking a Development & Operations Coordinator to oversee our donor relations, support the Director on grant-writing and reporting, and oversee administrative operations and smooth functioning of organizational initiatives. Through their work, the Development & Operations Coordinator will be responsible for developing and overseeing JUNTOS’ grassroots donor program, planning and coordinating our regular fundraising initiatives, and serving as lead in regards to bookkeeping and accounting. The successful candidate will also assist with handling office communications, space management, and other daily operations of the organization while supporting programming needs. 


A qualified applicant will have experience or a willingness to be trained in bookkeeping and accounting, a strong desire to develop the financial well-being of the organization, and strong communication and organizational skills that support relationship-building capacity with JUNTOS’ community members, organizational programming, and office operations. 


Please note that this is not an organizer position.


Primary Responsibilities 

  • Assist the Executive Director in grant reporting and grant-writing, identifying new funders, and ongoing communications with granting foundations 

  • Oversee ongoing operations of JUNTOS’ office; including daily opening and closing, coordinating appointments, and welcoming of community members 

  • Work with JUNTOS’ accountant and Executive Director to report and maintain internal finances and accounting( i.e. reconciling, quarterly reports, preparing payroll and deposit breakdowns)

  • Develop and oversee JUNTOS’ grassroots individual monthly donor program (known as the JUNTOS’ Sustainer Program)

  • Oversee ongoing operations of JUNTOS’ office; including daily opening and closing, coordinating appointments, and welcoming of community members 

  • Manage general email accounts, responding to general inquiries via social media, and lead answering phone calls

  • Assist JUNTOS’ staff in set-up and coordination of meetings, events, and convenings

  • Serve as primary volunteer contact and engage base as needed by JUNTOS’ staff 


Secondary Responsibilities

  • Support with updating and maintaining organizational website

  • Process payments, invoices, reimbursements and deposits 

  • Maintain office related accounts, office supplies, calendar,  and vendor contracts

Position Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, reading and writing with translation and interpretation ability

  • Capability to engage communities from diverse ethnic and class backgrounds in a welcoming manner 

  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

  • Competence in creating and maintain filing and office organizing systems

  • Commitment to racial equity, social justice, and immigrant rights 

  • Strong local ties and familiarity with Philadelphia is a plus

 

Benefits

Full-time exempt position with yearly salary of $45,000, with occasional work on nights and weekends. Excellent healthcare benefits at no cost to employee and  PTO: 20 vacations days, 6 sicks days, and 3 personal days. Partial cell phone reimbursement provided on a monthly basis.


Level of Language Proficiency
Bilingual in Spanish and English, reading and writing with translation ability.

 

Location
Physical office located 600 Washington Ave, 2nd Fl, Unit 18UA, Philadelphia, PA 19147. Located on the 2nd floor of the building but is accessible via elevator. Position is in-person from 10am-6pm but is subject to change based on public health guidelines. JUNTOS can provide a copy of our Office Protocol and COVID-19 Safety Guidelines Policy to interested applicants.
