Subject: OIA Opportunity: Call for Consultants
Good afternoon friends and partners –
The Office of Immigrant Affairs seeks a consultant who can work with the Executive Director of the office to design and launch a Philadelphia Welcoming Network and a Philadelphia Welcoming Fund.
The consultant will build off existing city coalition and collaboration models such as the Shared Safety Initiative for a systemic response to stop domestic violence, and the Opioid Response Unit for a systemic response to stop the opioid epidemic. The Philadelphia Welcoming Network seeks to be a coordinated coalition of the public and private sectors to have a systemic coordination of immigrant integration for the City of Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Welcoming Fund is envisioned to be a community driven grant making project that will fund grassroots initiatives meant to ensure the successful integration of immigrants into various systems in Philadelphia (health, education, employment, business development, etc.). The Executive Director will need support both in fund development for this project and designing and implementing the community grant making program.
This initiative is made possible by a generous donation of $75,000 from the Open Society Foundation with a goal of catalyzing state and local governments to be more involved in the welcoming and integration of newcomers from Afghanistan. The consulting contract will be held with Mayor’s Fund for Philadelphia, the fiscal sponsor for this project. Additional details about this request for proposals attached.
If you are interested in working with the Office of Immigrant Affairs to design and launch this network and fund, please submit a brief project proposal with anticipated tasks, costs, timeline and milestones (no more than 4 pages) to me at Amy.E...@phila.gov by Friday, May 27th.
Please share this out widely with interested and qualified parties.
Best,
