Fundraising & Grants Manager

Fundraising & Grants Manager
The Fundraising & Grants Manager (FGM) is responsible for leading the overall
strategy and execution of fundraising to resource OnePA’s mission and work.
This position successfully sets and meets mission-driven resource generation
goals in a supportive and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will
be someone who is good at building and maintaining trust-based
relationships, loves to plan, has excellent written and speaking skills, stays on
top of the details while holding the big picture, and motivates others. This
position reports to OnePA’s Development Director.

Key Responsibilities
70% - Grants Management & Donor Development
● Develop resource strategy for private and public foundation funding
and other resources generated from the philanthropic sector
● Identify, cultivate, and grow a robust pipeline of grant opportunities
● Research, write, and present grant prospects to OnePA’s Development
Director and other key stakeholders
● Write, customize, and update compelling grant proposals, letters of
inquiry, concept papers, grant reports, and funder communications
● Research and engage with new funding prospects and current
supporters with OnePA’s Development Director, Executive Director,
board members, and other team members
20% - Digital Fundraising & Individual Giving
● Develop and implement individual giving strategy for digital fundraising
program and campaigns
● Liaise with communications team to generate online donations via
portals including the OnePA website and social media platforms, and
external platforms
● Write copy for quarterly external organizational newsletter and
campaign materials to encourage donations
10% - Organizational Administration and Support
● Manage grant and reporting calendars in order to comply with all
proposal and grant requirements; ensure fundraising information is
updated in a timely manner in OnePA’s customer relationship
management (CRM) platform
● Define and improve documentation processes, procedures and policies
for fundraising in collaboration with the Systems Manager
● Standardize templates and language of all fundraising-related
documents, including proposals, reports, and acknowledgements in
collaboration with Communications Team
● Support fundraising-related planning, events, and meetings, including:
foundation/donor meetings, preparing briefings, securing sponsorships
and underwriters for events

The Ideal Candidate Will
● Be committed to social, racial and economic justice, expanding
democracy, and building a broader social justice movement.
● Have at least two years of previous grant writing and management
experience (including winning proposals to foundations or
corporations)
● Have excellent writing skills and a demonstrated ability in grants
management (including research, cultivation with executive staff, grant
writing and reporting). An existing knowledge of statewide and national
progressive funding landscape, and experience with foundation grants
for both 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations, is preferred.
● Embrace the challenge of translating grassroots organizing into strong
grant proposals and demonstrating to funders why this work is urgent
and necessary.
● Be a strong project manager who is exceptionally detail oriented and is
comfortable creating and following systems to organize large amounts
of information, assign tasks to others, and achieve results.
● Have the ability to work in a team environment and independently with
the ability to meet unexpected demands
● Be effective at managing a heavy workload and enjoy taking ownership
of projects with the ability to handle multiple tasks under deadline
● Be able to research and gather information quickly and easily through
interviews, website and database research, and review of internal
reports and meeting notes
● Be skilled at data analysis and at using technology/databases
● Comfortable working with budgets and the accounting/finance team to
understand and communicate financial impact of funding requests

Salary and Benefits
Salary will be determined according to a salary scale that takes into account
years’ experience, location, job category, and other factors, but is expected to
start at $60,000. Benefits package includes a fully paid health, dental and vision insurance plan, optional 401K with a generous employer match after 6 months,
professional development opportunities and substantial paid time off.

Requirements
This job requires the ability to communicate, exchange information and
operate a computer for extended periods of time. It also requires infrequent
travel and the ability to occasionally work evenings, weekends or long hours.

Individual Giving Manager

Individual Giving Manager Job Description
One Pennsylvania, is seeking an Individual Giving Manager who will serve as
the primary front-line fundraiser for the Development office. Reporting to the
Director of Development, this position will actively prospect, cultivate and
solicit individual donors for annual, planned, and special project gifts.

Position Summary
The Individual Giving Manager will report to the Director of Development and
will work closely with OnePA’s Grants Manager, Data Manager and the
Fundraising Committee of the board. In addition to practical experience in
donor prospecting, cultivation and stewardship, the ideal candidate has
excellent client success skills and has a track record of balancing tasks and
projects from multiple work streams.

We estimate that candidates will have at least one year of relevant
experience, but our review of candidates for this role will focus on whether
they can fill the needs of the position, not years of experience.

Primary Responsibilities
● Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a personal portfolio of
high level ($5,000+) donors and prospects
● Create individual engagement, stewardship plans, and giving goals for
each individual donor based on giving history, relationship, and the
organization’s knowledge of the donor’s giving potential
● Develop new methods of donor cultivation and outreach to help fulfill
One Pennsylvania’s mission and vision, including leveraging digital
engagement and list acquisition tools
● Partner with Director of Development, Data Manager and Grants
Manager, to enhance relationships and create greater fundraising and
outreach possibilities
● Work with the Director of Development to identify planned giving,
reserve fund, and major donor prospects
● Identify and manage opportunities to include board members and
colleagues from across the organization in donor cultivation efforts
● Coordinate all fundraising outreach and planning for member-led
house parties and other donor-related events
● Craft effective proposals, reports, acknowledgements, and other
donor-related and/or board-facing communications.
● Create Moves Management system and participate in maintaining an
organized system for donor stewardship by updating constituent
records, as appropriate
● Able to work some nights and very occasionally on weekends

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
● One to three years of relationship building and front line solicitation or
sales experiences is essential.
● Understanding of One Pennsylvania’s mission, values and the ability to
be an effective spokesperson.
● Demonstrated success cultivating and stewarding strong relationships
with donors and prospects leading to successful realization of funding
goals
● Experience with annual fund campaigns including direct mail and
online solicitation
● Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a fine-tuned attention to detail who can work independently and with a team to set priorities, plan for, manage, and quickly adapt as necessary to implement multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
● Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
● Experience in budget management
● Database experience (Every Action preferred)
● Work from the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
● A demonstrated commitment to social, racial, and economic justice
and a deep understanding of challenges facing low-wage workers,
immigrant communities, communities of color, disabled people,
LGBTQ+ folks, and people at the intersections of the above
communities.
