The Institutional Relations Manager leads foundation, corporate, government, and community grants. Administrative duties are primarily remote with occasional in-person attendance at events, team building opportunities, fundraising events, donor meetings, and site visits. This is a full-time, nonexempt position. Compensation starts at $55,000+ with medical, dental, vision benefits, 403b retirement fund, life insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement fundraising strategy for institutional giving (foundation, corporate, community, and government) to achieve organization fundraising goals
  • Manage a robust portfolio of of institutional giving funders at various stages of the fundraising cycle from identification through solicitation and stewardship
  • Lead grants process including maintaining the annual calendar, creating proposals, submission of grants, reporting needs, and other grantor needs
  • Improve and implement corporate sponsorship strategies  
  • Work with the Board of Directors, Resource Development Committee, and other organization stakeholders to map relationships and identify growth opportunities
  • Create and maintain systems that promote good working relationships with program staff to ensure clear and timely communication for grant proposal development and/or reporting requirements.
  • Maintain grant awards, grant agreements, reporting and compliance requirements, database records, files, and resource materials pertinent to institutional giving with Bloomerang and Google Suite
  • Provide communication to institutional funders demonstrating organization impact and success
  • Attend student showcases and funder events, which may be occasionally in the evenings or weekends
  • Other duties as assigned related to institutional giving

Skills / Experience Required

  • COVID 19 Vaccine required
  • 2+ years in institutional giving, corporate giving, government grants, and/or foundation giving
  • Resident of Philadelphia with strong connections to the communities we work in (North, Northwest, West, and Southwest Philadelphia)
  • Experience fundraising for a performing arts organization and/or knowledge of Philadelphia’s philanthropic landscape preferred
  • A motivated self-starter able to work independently
  • A project manager mindset: ability to create effective team processes, meet deadlines, coordinate complex logistics, and juggle multiple tasks
  • Experience with a fundraising CRM
  • Strong technology skills including Google Drive
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills
  • Strong networking and engagement skills
  • Upbeat, creative personality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Full commitment to and passion for social justice, racial justice, and equity
