Position Description:
WFP is building a national party of the left. We’re investing in
building the base our country needs. WFP Organizers are part of a cadre
of skilled organizers that help us build membership and elect
transformative leaders to office.
An apprentice organizer is offered a salary, training, and mentorship to
build the skills needed to organize members and leaders and build
political power. This apprenticeship is a 1-year FT temporary role
mentored and evaluated by the Field Organizing Director (and other key
leaders in the organization). The period is from January 31st, 2022
through December 20th, 2022. The period is meant to allow the
prospective organizer to experience direct organizing full-time and
practice the arts of WFP 2.0 organizing so that they can wrestle with if
the vocation of organizing is for them and if WFP is their political
home. WFP organizes its members through local clubs, which endorse
candidates, build membership and organize in their communities.
Apprentice organizers will be responsible for building local clubs in
their community. They will also be responsible for helping community
leaders learn voter contact best practices, and translating the
political power built-in local clubs into action, by helping build
programs to knock doors and make phone calls for candidates nominated
and endorsed by clubs.
As a Philadelphia organizer, the geographic focus will be based in North
and West Philadelphia, in addition to WFP strategic priorities.
As an Allentown organizer, the geographic focus will be based in the Lehigh Valley, in addition to WFP strategic priorities.
Qualifications:

collaboration and cooperation, with experience working with multiple
stakeholders
[*] Proficiency using spreadsheets and constituent
relationship management systems[*] Strong interest/background in
