Hi all,

I don't have a many details, but Represent.Us is organizing at the national level to bring a march to to the Independence Hall area of Philly this coming Saturday.  The idea is to remind people as tax day approaches that they are funding a government which increasingly does not represent them.  I'm carving time away from a long-planned family get together this weekend to appear in the action.  I hope some of you will as well.  When I have specific times, I will pass them along.  I'm guessing midday.  Funny outfits, anti-corruption signs, all encouraged.  Represent.Us is the group fighting for the American Anti-Corruption Act, which is consistent with and supportive of all of the constitutional strategies.  The march will be specifically in support of RU and the AACA and of course highlighting the problem of the corrupting influence of money in politics generally.

Cheers,
Mark

REPRESENTATION DAY April 12th

Joint Philly Area Event

Independence Hall

http://volunteer.represent.us/10/independence_hall_philadelphia

This event will be simple.  Show up with a sign, if you have one.  I have a few small signs that don’t have people yet.  Rootstriker tip of the ice berg signs are fine.  Homemade signs are fine too.  If you’re really ambitious, dress up in a money-bags tycoon outfit or perhaps an Uncle Sam outfit.  Or whatever clever eye-catching costume you can think of.  We may have T-shirts to distribute.  And I have two $100 bill slip over outfits that I can bring for those who like the idea.  But mostly just come.  We WILL NOT be marching.  We will stay in the area of Independence Hall.  We will pose for our own cameras with our signs and then spread out into a banner team, a petition team, money stampers, etc.  And we’ll all talk to people about The Corrupting Influence of Big Money in Politics and hand out materials.

Get there before or about 1:30 p.m.  We’ll go until at least 2:30 and probably longer if things are hoppin’.  I will learn more details on Wednesday midday.

Check out this Representation Day Materials page.

 Cheers,

Mark
