Hey All, I oversee a space that could potentially be a pretty sweet coworking spot in Lower Bucks County.

I know our group is pretty widespread (and has been dormant for a while too) but I'm looking to see if there is any interest in a group that would co-work one or two days a week.

i think one of the hard parts of our original start was finding public space that was central and had wifi that didn't suck.

Attached is a pic of the space.

Some of the amenities:

- solid internet / wifi (30 mbps download speeds from xfinity) - much beter than starbucks!
- printer access
- full kitchen
- two conference rooms w/whiteboards
- a pretty great atmosphere (as you can tell from the pic, its an old warehouse that's been converted into a community space)
- plenty of tables

Now, I'm fully aware (from Alex at IndyHall) that just because we have a space available doesn't mean we have a coworking community.  The community definitely needs to come first.

So that's the question, do we have the seeds of a community?

Is there interest for a co-working space in lower bucks? The space is located in Feasterville.

Would love to hear any feedback, thoughts, questions etc.

I am near Newtown/Langhorne.  I would be interested with this however since I currently have a long-term contract in KoP, it would be for nights/weekends and more likely to meet with fellow business partners.  If I was working from home during the day I might find this useful during the week however that is not my current situation.

If you happen to be going to the CodeCamp in Abington on May 11 (tomorrow), I would ask that it be announced in some way.  I think there will be about 400-500 people there and in the target area.

Thanks for the response, I'll keep you updated on whether things progress or not.

I won't be going to CodeCamp in abington but if anyone is and the want to get the word out, that would be awesome.

Space looks amazing, but I'm in Ardmore area so the hike around the Blue Route on a regular basis wouldn't work for me.

Hello everyone!

My name is Yuriy Porytko ( @yuriy_p , http://codeforphilly.org/members/Yuriy , http://startupdigest.com/curator/yuriy-porytko/ ) and I am the Managing General Partner at SmartStart.ie operting out of Ireland and Philadelphia.  I'm also pretty active in the PHL tech community.

I've started to begin some coworking at the Ukrainian American Sports Club, www.Tryzub.org at County Line and Lower State Roads in Horsham/Chalfont in their amazing facility last month. I’ve been on the Board for a while and just recently have gotten active as Executive Vice President there.  I’ve taken an office there and usually work there on Monday’s after my GP calls with my European partners from 11am on...  I am often there most Fridays as well.  I hold open office hours on Monday afternoons and have been shifting many of my meetings to take place up at the club.  The facility is amazing!  And we have awesome broadband ( both ethernet and wifi ) business service from Verizon FIOS and can accommodate / configure multiple dedicated wifi networks.

I’ve begun coworking sessions there last month.  Our next coworking session will be on Wednesday May 15th beginning at 9am and going on until our BOD meeting beginning at 7pm, but folks can certainly stay and enjoy the space and the bar, which is open from 6:00pm every evening for the season till winter.

In addition to the banquet hall, multi-purpose / flex room, conference room, commercial kitchen and club bar in the main clubhouse, the facility has an outdoor pavilion with a stage, outdoor bar, tiki bar, BBQ pit with flat top and separate outdoor kitchen and picnic grove.  All of these features are perfect for just about any sort of meeting, workshop, meetup, conference, coworking, party, event and more!  The place is kid and pet friendly and can accommodate multiple events at the same time.

My goal is to create awareness in the community about the club.  I will be holding workshops with some of my tech partners and holding tech events there very soon, in addition to some social events like beer tastings, wine tasting classes, perogie making classes even!

Please let me know when you might be in the area.  I will be there this Monday May 13th after lunch and conducting a few tours of the club for some folks…. Maybe you can join us?  If not I will be there Wednesday the 15th all day for coworking, details below.  Everyone is welcome!!

Tryzub is opening up The Clubhouse for members and their guests for Coworking.

What is coworking?  Coworking is a style of work that involves a shared working environment, often an office, and independent activity. Unlike in a typical office environment, those coworking are usually not employed by the same organization. Typically it is attractive to work-at-home professionals, independent contractors, or people who travel frequently who end up working in relative isolation.  Coworking is also the social gathering of a group of people who are still working independently, but who share values, and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with like-minded talented people in the same space.

Traditional work is killing people so they are looking for alternatives and coworking fills that void.  “Modern work has pushed everything we’re doing onto little screens,”  “Work in a traditional office environment is literally killing people.” Coworking can make people more active. The computer and Internet age has resulted in workers leading more sedentary lives. That coupled with a poor diet in the U.S. has led to an obesity epidemic. Coworking can bring more balance into people’s lives and lead to a healthier lifestyle. (Gervais Tompkin with Gensler, a global design firm).  More than 110,000 people worldwide work in one of the nearly 2,500 coworking spaces worldwide, according to deskmag.

Coworking spaces allow people to work remotely in a workplace with others. Tryzub will provide desks, Internet access, wifi and ethernet, networking and coffee. The Tryzub workplace will encourage collaboration and provide workers a more social and interactive environment than working from home, or allow for you to work undisturbed if you choose.  In addition to being your soccer club, where you can get a great workout for your body, Tryzub will be your new health club to get a workout for your mind and get your work done!  The coworking movement is a phenomena that is taking people by surprise. Estimates that 77 percent of all relationships are virtual so people need contact with others to be happy and productive.  We need these divergent and new work experiences to keep us healthy.

Next Tryzub Community Coworking  is on Wed May 15th 2013 at 9:00am and will be held monthly!!

Tryzub Community Coworking is free to Tryzub members and their guests.  For non-members, be my guest, and try out Tryzub Community Coworking for free, if you like it and decide to stay on Tryzub Club Social annual memberships are available for only $25.00.
