After years of war and economic crisis, it's time to take a stand. Washington says we can't afford to spend money to create jobs, protect the environment or to fund human needs, but billions are poured into costly wars overseas. We say enough. is enough.
We are inviting labor, environmental, student and community organizations to participate in a Peace Fair and Rally. Set up booths and tables. Share your ideas.
The program for the event is still in formation, and it promises to be exciting. We are looking for groups and individuals who would want to do a presentation (this is wide open; song, dance, spectacle, speech, play, silent movement, street theatre) or set up a booth or display, dealing with the wars at home and/or the wars abroad.
If you know of any interested groups or people who want to be on the program or who want space at the event for a booth or display, please send an email to phillyag...@gmail.com
We want this event to be different and creative, and are reaching out to artists and other people beyond the usual groups who would show up at an anti-war rally. Please send out the word, and please come out next Monday to help us plan!
We will be having a PAW planning meeting next Monday, September 12 at 7:00 PM at the Friends Center, 15th St. & Cherry St. We will be discussing the planning for the October 15 rally and Peace Fair.
