 Dear friends,

It has been only a week since the earthquake hit Yushu,  yet the news of the death toll rising past 2,146 has been lost in the shadows of other large disasters.

I thank everyone who continues to send prayers and love, the support is felt and appreciated. Now what is needed most is financial contributions.

Although China has provided rapid relief to the devastated area, the government is admitting that it cannot afford further efforts. Funds are urgently needed. It is critical that the 100,000 homeless and 10,000 injured are provided with food, water and shelter. Having lived in the area for almost 3 years I know that these people are hearty and can withstand much hardship, yet a body is a body... and it is impossible to survive without these necessities, especially in -12C temperatures.

I have been impressed by the The Bridge Fund's work in Yushu for many years, and now they have combined efforts with a group of International NGO's and some grassroots organisations  to provide relief. Please consider what you can do to help. I know many of you have been generously assisting with other humanitarian projects and everyone deserves support. But I must ask for your support on this particular cause. I promised the survivors that I will do everything I can to help them, since their homeland and their being have given me so much light.  Please consider how much a donation of $5 (less than an hour of your wages), would mean.-it would mean a great deal.

The Bridge Fund promises that 100% of the funds will be put towards relief. The Chinese Government has also promised that all NGO's will be carefully monitored and no dollar will be misplaced...and that government is pretty darn good at monitoring so you can be assured that every $1 is going to directly help someone who has lost everything.

Thanks for caring,
Love and Light- Meg/ Pema Lhamo
